The top3 story began with a woman, a walrus and a trapeze artist. 'We were in Germany', reminisces founder, Terri Winter, 'when we saw a cabaret show featuring only the best acts in their field'. 'I was blown away by this incredible concept and got to thinking, why couldn't this same experience translate to retail - where customers know they will find something wonderful?'

Top3 has since continued to evolve with a vision of sourcing only the best-designed products from around Australia and the world, serving them up in a tantalising instore and online experience.

With excellence at its core, top3's range features well over a thousand products, but never more than the 3 best items in their respective class by merit of design - everything from homewares and accessories to kitchen and dining.

Top3 believes in fostering design, not stealing it, so all top3 products are 100% authentic.

Return Policies

Returns + Exchanges due to change of mind

We want you to be one hundred percent happy with your purchase from top3 by design. If, for whatever reason, you are unhappy with an item, including change of mind, you can return it for an exchange, store credit or a full refund provided the items are in the original packaging and are in saleable condition.

In order to receive store credit from an item due to a change of mind, simply return the item within 14 days of purchase. The item must be in ‘as new’ condition, including packaging. You will be responsible for any shipping on change of mind exchanges or returns. We are always happy to exchange an item if the product and packaging is in an "as new" condition.

Proof of Purchase

If you are a top3 member, or, the person who made the purchase for you is a top3 member, we will have a record of the purchase and you will not need to provide a receipt. If you are not a top3 member you will need to provide proof of purchase.

Proof of purchase can be in the form of:
  • A receipt from Top3 by Design
  • Credit card statement

Please contact us on, or phone 1300 top 333 during business hours, prior to returning an item to ensure that we can discuss the receipt of your returned goods and arrange an exchange or shopping credit promptly. If you would like to request an exchange, you can let us know at this time of your new selection, so we are able to reserve this for you.

A link to our returns form is included with your emailed order confirmation, please include the form with your return/exchange to avoid delays upon arriving in our warehouse.

Faulty Items

In the unlikely event of receiving a faulty item, please contact us immediately to discuss its repair or replacement by either phoning 1300 top 333 or emailing

Top3 by design will arrange repair of the fault. If repair is not possible, a replacement will be provided where possible. If it is no longer possible to replace the product we will provide a full refund or your choice of equivalent product value.

Special Exceptions

We cannot accept returns or exchanges on the following items unless faulty or where otherwise required by Australian Consumer Law:
  • customised or personalised products
  • special order items

Shipping Policies

Shipping Times

Top3 knows how frustrating waiting for an item can be, so we always try to make delivery time as short as possible. Instock items ship the same day. We will be in touch asap if there are any difficulties with supplying your order. All orders ship from our warehouse which is located in Crows Nest, Sydney. Standard delivery usually takes 1-5 business days depending on your parcel destination (8-10 business days for western states and remote areas).

We dispatch items from our warehouse every working day.

Although stock levels are virtually live, on rare occasions, the item you have selected may have sold out between updates of stock availability on the website. If this happens, we will attempt to contact you immediately on the email address or telephone numbers provided with your order.

Delivery delays can occur when:
  • Your credit card was declined or your address requires verification due to insufficient information.
  • Your order is to a non-metropolitan or remote area.
  • If we are unable to contact you via email or phone to discuss any issues we may have with your order.

All deliveries can be tracked through the shipping company's tracking systems; the tracking number is emailed to you upon dispatch. If there are any issues at any time, please feel free to contact us and we can track it for you.

We ship via courier to metropolitan cities and use Australia Post’s eparcel system for any remote areas.
